Located in the heart of Europe and in the extractivist landscape of the Ruhrgebiet, the Ruhr University with its 21 faculties is home to about 50,000 students. The spatial and conceptual positioning - not least the roughness of the university campus - served as additional inspiration for the conference. We as the organising team are connected to the Ruhr region and the Ruhr University in various ways. Our different perspectives and institutional connections promote a polyphonic discourse on the situatedness of our knowledge, which we would like to intensify in the context of the conference.
